Peugeot 3008 Hybrid GT Premium– Peugeot introduced the 3008 Hybrid, late in 2024, as part of their expanding range of mid-sized SUVs.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid front quarter 1The Hybrid replaces the pure petrol and PHEV versions. There is a pure EV coming later this year.

Given the way the market is responding to hybrids, this is a clever move by Peugeot.

Pricing for the 3008 Hybrid GT Premium is from $64,990 and the entry model the Allure is from $52,990. Both are plus the usual costs.

Compared to European rivals, that’s actually terrific value.

Peugeot 3008 Hybrid GT Premium 2025 review

What does the 3008 GT Premium Hybrid look like?

Typical of recent Peugeot designs, it is a crossover between SUV, Coupe, Fastback, and wagon.

The Peugeot 3008 Hybrid is a bold and beautiful design

From its upright familial grill through the sharp distinct profile, it’s all style. The rear section is the blend of coupe/hatchback that is popular.

The front LED light and DRL’s are in the sleek ‘Sabre tooth’ style.

The 3008 has walk up unlock and walk away lock with a fairly loud ‘beep’ to let you know it done.

There is automatic high beam that is both effective and well calibrated.

Front window washers are automatic but I’m not a fan of the water coming from the wipers.

I love the dual sunroof. It fits well with the overall style.

Rear LED lights are the claw design.

Boot lid has a remote and hands-free operation. Unusually there is no rear wiper.

Wheels and tyres are 19 x 7.5-inch Alloy style with 225/55 R19 tyres.

What is the 3008 Hybrid like inside?

Its Avantgarde in design.

For those of us that have mobility issues or simply don’t want to bend too much, front seat access is easy.

There is a lot to take in.

Starting with aluminium upper door and dash trims and fabric interior trims. They are different. Loved by some and others aren’t so keen on it. I’m never a fan of Piano black though and there is enough there to be noticeable.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid front seats 1

The interior is a pleasant change to the typical, bland interior of many competitors.

The Nappa front leather seats are impeccable. Comfortable, supportive with a heating/ventilation and multiple massage function. Every time I drove the massager was going.

There are multiple electronic adjustments available including the side bolsters along with a seat squab extender.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid front seats adjustments 1In front of the driver is a flat bottom and top leather steering wheel. I love it !

I also appreciate the cruise control now being on the steering wheel and not hidden behind the spoke. That old design was a pain, and the modern design is better.

I also really like the fact that these are physical buttons with some resistance rather than touch sensitive.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid steering wheel 1

With plenty of height and reach adjustment its easy for every driver to find that perfect position. It also sits below the new 21-inch digital curved iCockpit and central screen.

This is an excellent design and a marked improvement.

One thing that was quite noticeable was that everywhere you rest your elbows was soft touch. Plush even.

The transmission lever in on the front dash, which is odd given how much room there Is on top of the central tunnel next to the electronic park brake.

Did I mention just how good the steering wheel is?

Storage

This is a feature of the 3008. The central storage bin is huge and ventilated. There is another smaller but functional bin in front of that. There are two USB-C ports and a 12V outlet there. Above that is the wireless charging tray. Its is an odd place tucked away,  but I kinda like it.

However, the glove box is tiny.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid front interior storage 2

Cup holders are a reasonable size with teeth for securely holding cups and bottles.

Door pockets are adequate. This is for both front and back doors.

In the back there is a small bin between the front seats.

In the boot there is a 12V outlet, small side bins and four tie down points for luggage. Also, the space below the floor.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid rear seats 1

Rear seat and boot space

The rear seats are better for two people, with the outer seats sculptured and heated. They are fairly narrow with a wide access point across door sills. The doors don’t open particularly wide also, which makes access slightly restricted.

With a taller driver rear seat leg room is almost non-existent. Head room is ok.

There are air vents, outer seat heating controls and a small storage bin. Between the rear seats is a fold down arm rest with twin cup holders and a phone slot.

The rear seats fold in a 40/20/40 configuration. Handy for carrying skis.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid boot space

Normal position is a  stepped flat for a longer load area. You can raise the boot floor to get a completely flat load area. That’s handy.

The boot access is good, and space is reasonable. Ultimate cargo capacity is restricted by the coupe style design.

For baby seats there are three top tether points.

There is a small hidden section under the boot platform where the spare tyre would normally go, but that is partially taken up by  the 48V battery.

Boot opening is either by movement activation or key fob. The boot opens high enough for me to stand under without ducking too much. I’m 190cm tall.

Other thoughts

  • Interior ambient lighting looks cool at night.
  • The door window sills are quite high, not useful for arm resting but the armrests are great
  • Overall visibility is good, but the angle of the “A” pillars does create a small blind spot.
  • 360 degree camera is excellent

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid connectivity

Technology and connectivity

The 21-inch digital curved screen encompasses both the drivers instrument cluster and the central screen.

There is a high degree of configurability for the driver’s instrument, but like always, you find what you like and leave it.

Additional information is available by pushing the ends of the indicator and washer stalks. This is mostly the trip meter and economy.

The digital drivers instrument section doesn’t have touch functionality. Not that you would want it.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid front interior screen 1

However, the central screen is a technological smorgasbord. You can design the widgets in almost any way you want them.

There is wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Hands free conversations were good with minimal drop out.

For the audiophiles, the sound system produces crisp clear audio with speakers even in the rear doors.

One disadvantage of technology is that controls for many functions require navigating menus of  the screen instead of physical buttons or dials. An example of this is the heating function for the seats.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid front control panel 1

The lower touch panel allows easy controls. Its quite functional as well as stylish.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid front control buttons 1

Where there are controls not on the screen, they are not easily accessible. Being out of reach along the central tunnel. This is a case of form over function.

Especially when you have a volume control there and also have that on the steering wheel. Looks like someone didn’t want to change a legacy design.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid transmission 1

Engine and drivetrain

Driven by an all new hybridised 1.2L three-cylinder MHEV turbo petrol drivetrain, with battery technology that recharges while decelerating.

This model carries PEUGEOT’s all new 6-speed Dual Clutch System Automatic Transmission (e-DCS). In urban driving, the PEUGEOT 3008 Hybrid can operate more than 50% of the time in 100% zero- driving emission electric mode.

With a maximum power output of 100Kw at 5500 rpm and an electric motor producing 15.6Kw at 4265 rpm, the 3008 Hybrid strikes the perfect balance between fuel efficiency and dynamic performance.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid economy 1With a combined ADR fuel consumption of just 4.9L/100km4 and CO2 emissions of only 111g/km4, the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid ensures less environmentally impactful driving without compromising on power.

We got a real world figure of 6.1 L/100k over a variety of driving conditions. That’s awesome economy and similar to a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

The 3008 Hybrid is the very first vehicle to be based on the new STLA Medium platform. Bringing together a range of technological advancements for an enhanced driving experience. Featuring a new front axle, rear axle, and braking system, the 3008 Hybrid delivers an agile and responsive ride.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid front exterior 2 driving

What’s the 3008 Hybrid like to drive.

Better than you would expect from the power and torque figures.

It’s a bit of a slouch from standstill. And a 0-100kmh time of 10 seconds won’t win many enthusiasts’ praises. However, when it is pottering along its quite responsive.

The small steering wheel adds to the sporty feel. Its light and quick.

I do like the slightly raspy exhaust note and the more I drive these three-cylinder turbo engines the more I Like them.

I found it interesting to bring up the hybrid monitor on the drivers’ instruments, to see the balance between petrol and EV driving. Its more focused on EV driving than you might expect.

2025 PEUGEOT 3008 GT Premium Hybrid hybrid controls 1

The challenge for me whenever I get a hybrid is to fully charge the battery. Doesn’t often happen but it’s a bit if fun trying.

There are three drove modes, and they do what is written on the box. Eco, Normal and Sport. I left it in eco mode mostly, but they do have some affect on the driving experience.

Also, there is an unusual amount of engine braking and regeneration for a hybrid. That makes for a different driving style.

Inside its quiet and the suspension does a decent job of soaking up road bumps and irregularities. Its especially quiet on the motorway, little road, or wind noise.

The cruise control does a respectable job of sticking to seed both up and down hills.

It also feels nimble around town with a small turning circle and subtle ride.

Its sporty rather than a sports SUV.

Overall, I really liked the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid. Especially in the GT Premium variant we evaluated.

Priced from a stunning $64,990 plus the usual costs it comes with unmatched combination of innovative hybrid technology, premium comfort, and advanced safety features.

This is thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars less than other premium European models. And you don’t have to tick a long and expensive options list to get features.
